Impressive Turnout Fosters Promising Business Outlook

The largest food, beverage and hospitality trade exhibition in Asia, HOFEX 2011 – the 14th International Exhibition of Food & Drink, Hotel, Restaurant & Foodservice Equipment, Supplies & Services, closed with impressive turnout and fosters a promising outlook on the industry.

The biennial event, staged on 11‐14 May, received overwhelming support from exhibitors and trade practitioners around the world. Achieved again a record‐breaking result, 30,718 quality trade buyers visited HOFEX 2011 of which 30.27% are international buyers came from 85 countries and regions. Together with numerous conference delegates, contestants and media, the show welcomed a total of 33,409 visitors, many of them are decision‐makers from the industries of food & beverage, wholesale, import, retail, hotel operation, theme park & resort and etc., which indicate the high quality standard of HOFEX trade buyers.

HOFEX 2011 has marked the biggest ever exhibition size, occupied 11 halls with a total of 48,000 m² exhibition space, the show is 22.7% bigger than HOFEX 2009. Dedicating to showcase 2 main themes ‐ Food & Drinks and Foodservice Equipment & Supplies, 1,800 premium international exhibiting companies from 48 countries including 44 national groups exhibited in this 4‐day show and are satisfied with the quantity and quality of buyers that they had met. 80% of exhibitors have shown interests in re‐booking for HOFEX 2013.

The impressive turnout of exhibitors and visitors fosters a promising business outlook on the industry. Over the years, the show develops as the most valuable multifunctional trading platform for industry practitioners. Organised in its 14th edition, HOFEX has proven to be the best business platform for industry sectors to further explore business opportunity and exchange information.

Concurrent events including the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic (HKICC), Regional Hotel General Managers’ Forum, Hong Kong International Wine Challenge 2011 (HKIWC), Allworld Open Cup – Creative Classic & Bartending Flair, Grand Barista Championship@HOFEX, Asian Hospitality Technology Education Conference, as well as Asian Club Management Conference at the show also received pronounced recognition and commendations from all participants both from local and overseas, and they are looking forward to see those events return in next edition of HOFEX in 2013.
